Air Force Academy Wrestling

The Air Force wrestling team picked up a 31-9 victory over Portland State at Northern Colorado.
The Falcons moved to 3-10 on the season.
After Air Force picked up six points for a Portland State forfeit at 125 pounds, junior Zach Valdez from Parker, Colo., wrestled up a weight class at 133 and extended the Falcons' lead with a tech fall. The Vikings took the decision at 141 pounds, but Bridger Lord, a senior from Missoula, Mont., gave the Air Force another score with a 12-0 major decision at 149. Senior Zach Lord, also from Missoula, continued the Falcons' scoring with a 6-0 decision at 157 pounds.
While junior Tony Dorward from Seattle dropped a close 5-4 decision at 165 pounds, giving up the extra point for riding time. Sophomore Stephen Crozier from Monona, Iowa, extended Air Force's lead to 21-6 with an 8-3 decision at 174 pounds. Portland State was able to get another decision at 184 pounds, but the Falcons closed out strong in the final two weight classes, getting tech falls from Jordan Tribble a sophomore from Midwest City, Okla., and junior Anthony Stegeman from Cincinnati.
